SUMMARY:Girls with Drills - Build Outdoor Seating and Raised Planters
DESCRIPTION:Join us to build an outdoor seating area for the Carers' Community Garden. This will be a space to relax\, share stories and appreciate nature. \nAs part of a series of events for The Carers Garden we're building a seating area for the garden which will be used to hold space for community for years to come. \nThis takes place over 5 weeks\, you don't have to attend every week. Just pop along when you can! \nWe’ll provide all the tools\, materials\, safety equipment and expertise to help you learn DIY. \nThere will also be the opportunity to do some open gardening\, the Carers Garden is a place for everyone to enjoy and we want to give you the space to be able to be creative however you wish to be! Open gardening can include (but isn't limited to) planting seeds\, trimming bushes\, tidying areas\, cutting grass\, and other things that might need our attention on the day. \nYou will be outdoors for most of the day\, please make sure you dress accordingly. If it's hot and sunny\, make sure you wear sunscreen and have a hat...alternatively if its cold/rainy please wrap up warm! In both instances please wear closed toe shoes\, boots are more suitable but trainers are also okay. \n\nWho's it for?\nAdults aged 18+ \nWhen?\nTuesday 25th June - 30th July\n10.00AM - 3.00PM \nThis is free. DESCRIPTION:Join us for week 1 OR 2 of our Intro to Bricklaying course. In the first week you'll get to grips with the tools and materials used for bricklaying\, practice mixing mortar\, learn how to cut bricks\, and build a simple wall. During the second week you will be practicing your skills and finishing your brick wall. \nWe’ll provide all the tools\, materials\, safety equipment and expertise to help you learn DIY. \nThis is a 5 week course. You must attend one of the first two weeks (2nd & 9th August) in order to attend the following weeks (16th\, 23rd\, 30th August).  \nThere will also be the opportunity to do some open gardening\, the Carers Garden is a place for everyone to enjoy and we want to give you the space to be able to be creative however you wish to be!
