SUMMARY:Build a Planter at the Carers Garden
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use manual and electrical tools by building a wooden planter. No previous experience needed!\nAs part of a series of events for The Carers Garden we're building a planter to go in the garden which will be filled with plants for everyone to enjoy. \nWe’ll provide all the tools\, materials\, safety equipment and expertise to help you learn DIY. \nThere will also be the opportunity to do some open gardening\, the Carers Garden is a place for everyone to enjoy and we want to give you the space to be able to be creative however you wish to be! Open gardening can include (but isn't limited to) planting seeds\, trimming bushes\, tidying areas\, cutting grass\, and other things that might need our attention on the day. \nYou will be outdoors for most of the day\, please make sure you dress accordingly. If it's hot and sunny\, make sure you wear sunscreen and have a hat...alternatively if its cold/rainy please wrap up warm! In both instances please wear closed toe shoes\, boots are more suitable but trainers are also okay. \n\nWho's it for?\nAdults aged 18+ \nWhen?\nThis is a drop in event. SUMMARY:Build a Sensory Play Area 4 Week Course
DESCRIPTION:Join us over 4 weeks to build a Sensory Play Area for the Barnsley community. \nOver 4 weeks we're going to build a mud kitchen and sensory garden and we need your help to make it happen! The first two weeks are for the mud kitchen\, they include measuring and preparing the space \, using our material bank to find the appropriate materials to use\, prepping and cutting everything\, building and finishing! \nThe following two weeks will involve working with nature and DIY to heighten our sensory experiences of it\, and to encourage play that is tactile\, scented\, calming and even sometimes messy.  \nWe’ll provide all the tools\, materials\, safety equipment and expertise to help you learn DIY. \nYou will be outdoors for most of the day\, please make sure you dress accordingly.
