What we’re looking for?

For someone who is a bit of a nerd when it comes to eco-conscious gardening – particularly DIY building.

You will:

  • help people who may never have used a drill, this workshop will introduce people to the basic functions of a drill. You’ll show people how to make a pilot hole and how to choose the right screw for the job.
  • teach the basics of using a drill, using a handsaw and safety awareness
  • help create upcycled handcrafted cold frame. A cold frame is a planter with a transparent lid that allows sunlight in and traps the heat to help protect your plants from cold, wet and soggy weather. We want to focus on re-using materials, we have some wood/palettes on site, but we also are asking people to bring scraps with them!

Each Role Model will be asked to assess their environmental and waste impact.

If this sounds like an opportunity you are interested in please click the ‘I want to apply’ button and fill in the form. Alternatively, if you would like to find out more about the role, you can book an information session below.

We will create a WhatsApp group to share resources and tutorials.

We’d love to hear from applicants that represent the communities we work with and welcome applications from young people, Black, Asian or minority ethnic persons, working-class people, marginalised genders, and people who have a disability, impairment or learning difference. We are an employer that values lived experience at all levels of our organisation.
